Julia Ann "Jewel" Garris Woodruff was born in Pennsylvania on Sept. 18, 1865, the daughter of Nathanael and Elizabeth Everett Garriss. She died May 9, 1920 in Sayre at the Robert Packer Hospital from complications from tuberculosis. She was 54. She was married to Jerome Woodruff (1857-1930) and lived in Wyalusing, PA with him. Together they had five children: Elmer (1887-1958), LeRoy (1892-1964), Lydia A. Woodruff Casselbury (1898-1957), Edward E. Woodruff (1899 - unknown), and Violet M. Woodruff Forker (1902-1991). She is buried in the Beaver Meadows United Methodist Church Cemetery in Tuscarora Township, Bradford County, PA, Plot 88.
